My first job gave me people who are still in my life today. Co-workers who became mentors. Mentors who became friends. The kind of relationships I leaned on when I needed them most, and that gave me hope at points when I didn’t have much else.
That is what I want every employee to have. Not engagement scores. Not pulse surveys. The real thing. Connection at work that holds when things get hard.
